Plan and prepare

  • Define objectives and expectations

Articulate the high level objectives and expectations of the Team engagement. This could be:

  • Improve team dynamics
  • Develop Agile mindset
  • Improve team culture
  • Overcome challenges within the team
  • Conduct group assessment

Collect information using assessment tools such as;

  • Organization cultural assessment
  • Team dynamic assessment
  • Agile mindset assessment
  • Review finding with key stakeholders

Review assessment report with key stakeholders. The purpose of activity is to review performance and communication challenges confidentially, and decide on strategy for the workshops.

  • Develop Team Engagement Plan
  • Develop Team engagement delivery plan that describes the approach, schedule, and team engagement activities. Some of the activities are non-business / fun activities that are done to bring participants together.

Deliver Workshop

  • Facilitate team engagement workshop
  • State the reality / the fact form the assessment report.
  • Facilitate workshops to get participants to collaborate and promote creative ideas.
  • Manage diverse perspective
  • Establish rules to Promote healthy confrontation
  • Facilitate fun activities to bring attends closer together.
  • Compile Implementation plan

Prepare implementation report based on the action plan from workshop results. This will include action plan, action owner, priority of actions, and measurement criteria; as well as preventive strategy for continuous improvement.

Measure Progress

  • Performing health check assessment

After 2-3 months from the Team Engagement workshop, collect feedback from the participants to validate the completion of actions, validate behavioral and mindset changes, and the impact on business results.
This health check could be done twice to measure progress and take corrective actions

  • Review progress reports with key stakeholders

Review the Progress Improvement Report with key stakeholders, that shows:

  • Progress against original assessment (tangible and non-tangible)
  • Business impact on the team and on the organization
  • Compile continuous improvement plan

Compile business improvement plan that contains the action plan of what needs to be done for continuous improvement.

External facilitator bring to organizations objectivity to the Team Engagement workshop (confidentiality and privacy that is based on the International Code Federation (ICF) code of ethics). In addition, participants tend to open up to external facilitators about matters they avoid sharing with internal employees.
